Question
Hello. I have a couple of questions about my new fire bellied frogs. I just got them today and after they ate one started fighting with the other. Is this normal? Should I separate them? Also one is bright green on the back and the other is darker green. Does the color indicate gender? Thanks!

Answer
Dear Kathy,
thank you for your question.
The different colour might indicate that they are two different species, but there's a certain variation in colour in the species, too. It has nothing to do with the toad's sex, though.
Here's a good website that shows the different species:

Is it possible that they are trying to mate? With two males, this might end in a fight. What exactly are they doing?
Please get back to me with some more info on their behaviour, it will make it easier for me to answer your question.
