Question
How do chameleons flick their tongue so far?

Answer
 Hi Cameron,
Chameleons have what is called an extensile tongue, highly muscular and almost the length of the animal with a softer bulbous, mucus covered tip that when thrust out, hitting a prey insect, acts like a suction cup and keeps the prey stuck till drawn into the chameleon's mouth.
