Question
Hi there, this is jordan. I have a female leopard gecko that is 4 inches not including the tail. In other words, it is 4 inches from the snout to the vent area. However, i am not sure if it is an adult or a juvenile. What is the adult size of a leopard gecko not including the tail? Also, if it is an adult, i only feed in 6 insects every other day right? Last, do you know any site where i can sell leopard gecko babies? Please email me back asap. Thanks!!!

Answer
Four inches could be a subadult or a small adult.  If she still has striping then she's not fully an adult yet.  Don't go by amount every other day, feed her as many as she will eat in ten minutes.  This way she eats what her body wants.  That should be your guideline.  The insects should be properly gutloaded -- no gel food!  Feed the insects on ground up Total cereal and wet a piece of natural sponge or a slice of potato for moisture.
There are many sites to sell animals...none I would call good.  If you care about the babies, don't mate your geckos without having buyers.  A good buyer will want to see the parents and will already have learned on how to care for one already, or is willing to research first.  I wouldn't sell them to petstores either, few have the knowledge on proper care.
