Question
QUESTION: Hi,Tracie

No her beard not black all the time not all day if that's what you mean? yesterday she ate some greens & 6 supers today she ate most of her greens and im just feeding her crickets now with no calcium dusting iam just waiting for her to start eating more greens then i'll know her calcium in her body is getting lower.Tracie it's mind boggling to me that they look heathly but the twitching is still there less then before but there.I know reptisun blubs are good this should of stop by now with the male anyway his calium level was just 13.6 so that twitching should of stop with him at least..Check your email later i'll show you some pictures of her with black beard. And i would like to go over their phosphorus levels with you.Maybe it imbalance going on there

Thanks John

ANSWER: Hello John,

Yes, I hope her beard is not black all of the time.  At least she ate some worms & greens then.  I hope she starts eating more greens.
How is your male doing now?  Does he bask quite a bit also?
The Reptisun 10 tubes are fine, as long as they are 6-8 inches from them without anything blocking the light.

I hope the twitching stops soon.  Does the twitching happen when you pick them up or when they are basking?
The calcium to phosphorus ratios should be basically a 2:1 on average reading meaning the calcium should be approximately two times the amount of the phosphorus in the blood.
I will look for the pictures.

QUESTION: Hi,Tracie

Sorry for not writing too you yesterday i had to go some were last night.Yeah nothing is blocking the tubes like glass or plastic if that what you meant. The male is doing great and does bask just like a normal dragon should.Tracie the twitching is not when i put them up it's when they more or stop like the signs of MDB.Now i had other dragons and seen other dragons and never seen this before?the crazy part is that i seen this at 3/17 7 weeks ago but there legs aren't hard no lumps on there body color is bright and walk on all fours etc.And no twitching any where else on the body. The twitch is exactly at the base of the tail and yes it does happen when they bask also. There phosphorus level for the female is 5.0 and for the male is 4.4 is that a good range for them?

Thanks Tracie

Answer
Hello John,

How are they doing today?
The phosphorus levels are not too bad, with their calcium levels at the levels what they are.
Where did you get them again, a breeder as rescues?
The twitching can also be caused by poor absorption from other underlying problems such as Adeno virus.  You could test them for it, just to see if they have it.  However, they haven't had any other problems thus far other than just these recent twitching issues, correct?

I hope she starts to turn around for you.  :-))

Thanks.  Talk to you soon.
