AnswerHello Dean, The possibilities are many with what could be happening.
A veterinarian is the only person who can advise what could be causing and how to prevent it. If you are sure it is shed then talk to a vet and they can help you make a solution for the eyes.
You can also try misting his eyes with a misting spray bottle and warm water.
It could also be a parasitic problem although after four years there would have been other symptoms and problems.
I can give you a few links but a vet should be involved to give you proper identification on the problem and a solution to the problem.
If you could please also try to avoid using profanity in future questions I would appreciate it.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
