Question
Hello, can a leopard gecko have 2 hides but 1 moist and the other dry? If not should I provide a shedding aid? I am geting clay as an substrate for my leopard gecko, but I heard that if water touches it, the color seaps out and it could stain your gecko. I like this substrate alot so can you please give me some helpful ideas. Thanks!

Answer
Hello Sam,

It is fine to have 2 hides one being a moist one & the other one being dry.  Make sure the moist one is on the warmer end so it will raise the humidity enough to help with shedding.
If you do use the clay, just maybe use it on half of the tank with the other half being a carpet or something.  You have to consider where he will go to bathroom also, as to the moisture & liquid that will be excreted onto the clay.
