Beardie hind legs

Question
Hi,
I have a 3.5 yr old male bearded dragon who is acting healthy just like he always has.  Underneath his hind legs are dots/bumps that are normal on males, but his have stuff coming out of them.  Coming out of one of the dots is something small and black, and some (not all) of the others have some sort of a growth coming out, similar to a rotten potato that is growing roots.  These growths are not longer than 1/2 cm.  I have changed him to paper substrate and I cleaned his tank in a mild bleach solution.  I checked his brother (who lives in a different tank but gets fed the same things), and he doesn't have growths.  Is this a normal part of shedding that I have never seen before or is this something more serious?  THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME!!

Answer
The Femoral pores one the male exude a small amount of fluid which is normal for most male reptiles, and some, like the iguana, will form plugs.  If not kept clean enough, there can be infection, and that is what could be happening to your boy.  A vet visit should clear the problem up.
