Question
hi, i have a yellow plated lizard, female, bout 2yrs  or three yrs of age, ive had her in a 55 gallon tank with an iguana bout the same age. they never fight or have any problems coping with each other. today i came home and found my plated lizard in a very injured state, it seems that the iguana has jumped on her by mistake scratching her left eye ball out, i can tell that it has been cut and she has the entire left side of her face swelled up like a balloon, i wont have the money to take her to a vet for the next to weeks, what do i do in the mean time ,plz any one plz help me.

Answer
Number one,  This was probably a fight.  Reptiles are territorial and no two species should ever share a habitat, ever.  Plus, a 55 gallon is not big enough for a two year old iguana.  Please separate them and try and make a deal with the vet, or if there is a vet school in your state, they may have a clinic that would be more affordable for the plated or take the plated to a reptile rescue and make some deal to exchange work for vet care, two weeks is too long to wait for proper treatment.  For now, even if you have to get a large sterlite bin, and a mesh lid with proper lighting, just to keep them apart, do that.
