hi
i have a 2 year old female royal python , i have had her for about a year and she feeds and sheds very well .

i was handeling her today and suddenly she vomited a small amount (around an egg cup)of clear water like liquid from her mouth immediatley followed bu a clear thicker substance , hanging about 2 cm down by her mouth ,i have returned her to her viv and inspected her 1 hour later and she looks fine .
i have lowered her temp slightly over the last couple of weeks as im going to try and breed her.
she is still active, alert , andcomfortable wnen handled .
any info on this would be appreciated

Hey Alan,

it sounds like your ball just regurged a little . when was the last time she fed?if she is still active and her tongue is allways flickin she is probably just fine, now for  breeding how large is she?royals /balls(the american name because of their habit of balling up when frightend)are ready when thier about 36 inches for females and they uasully lay in early summer, a good tip also is if the female is introduced just after she has shed, when her pheromones smell much more intense to the male. It is best to introduce the two at the end of the temperature drop, just before the temperatures starts raising - the female will have been affected by the environmental changes and will have began to produce vitellogin pheromones (scents that attract the males) to arouse the male.well any way, keep me posted
