Question
about 3 weeks ago my cat bit my beardy on the left side between his leg and belly. at first there was no hole.. than the hole appeared and looked infected. He has not ate or drank anything. He doesnt move really at all accept for his head. The only time he drinks water is when I put in on my finger and up to his tongue. I started to put peroxcide on a q tip (which is the size of the hole)and put it in the wound. then would wrap a bandage around it with a like neusporin cream.  it got better with in a couple days.  then it came back and the wound looks the same.  he is not pooping and when he tries to move just a little he only uses his front arms. Where the tale starts from the back looks like there is a hump there. I almost think that my stupid cat (whom i got rid of) ruptured his spleen and paralazed my baby beardy :( i called the vets around here and none of them do reptiles. please help :(

Answer
Hello Randi,

Do you have a picture of your dragon?
I would only use diluted betadine with the antibiotic ointment.  The hydrogen peroxide is cytotoxic for tissue & scales.
Is his beard dark right now?
Since he is not eating, you will need to intervene right now & give him chicken or turkey baby food along with squash baby food to help him out. Do you have a UVB light you use?  If so, what type & brand do you use, a fluorescent tube bulb or a compact/coil bulb?
Do you give calcium on a regular basis, as well?
