QuestionHi,
I'm looking to purchase an Argentine Black and white Tegu...i had a few concerns...1st how do you tell the difference between Argentine and Columbian Tegus...2nd what are some signs of a tegu that i would not want to buy...3rd how big should a tegu be at 3 months old(snout to vent)...and finally do Tegus need a lot to climb on or should i just leave 1 or 2 pieces of wood for hiding purposes...is it safe to buy Tegus online or should i just wait for a reptile pet store to have them(only considering Regal Reptiles since I've heard many good things about them from people who go to the Expo)?
AnswerHere's what I know about Argentine BW tegus... I need to start breeding them! I get asked about them all the time but have never even seen one for sale. I know the Columbians have a greenish head as a baby but other than that I know nothing... I too have heard good things about Regal (a few bad things as well, but more good). I'd also check out LLL Reptiles, Ben Siegal, and Pro Exotics if I were you. They are all top notch!
