Question

my dragon
In the past week my bread dragon has had a spot of light/ grey colored skin on her nose and mouth area. I thought she was just shedding skin but it hasn't gone away. Any idea what it is?

Answer
Hi Ian, It certainly does look like skin that is about to shed. From the photo it looks like an upper layer separating from the lower layer which is what gives it the light colour in the normal shedding process.
There were some photos posted by reptile vet Dr. Marc Kramer of odd pigmentation loss that he has been seeing in some beardeds. The link with the photos is here:

The light areas in those photos do not look raised at all which I thought I could see in your photo, obviously you will be able to compare them much better.

There is also a very serious fungal skin condition that affects beardeds, called yellow fungus.Even though your photo does not resemble that at all right now I have included a link about it so that you are of it.

Personally I would take a wait and see approach to see if it does resolve with the next shed unless the area(s) start to turn an odd colour or look inflamed, then a vet visit is recommeneded.
