Question
hi am 11 i was wondering can a baby rabbit live in a 20 inch fish tank can it breath good

Answer
Dear Brittany,

No, a rabbit should *never* be placed in a fish tank or any other type of enclosure that does not have very open ventilation.  Rabbits are not fish, and they produce a lot of urine and waste.  The ammonia fumes from this will rapidly build up (even within a few hours) and can cause serious health problems.  Please go here:

to learn more about proper rabbit housing and care.  This site:

Explains what you need to properly take care of your bunny, including proper diet, how to tell if he's sick, etc.

A rabbit is not like a guinea pig or a hamster.  A rabbit is highly intelligent, active, and is more like a dog or cat than anything else.  If you would not put a puppy or kitten in a fish tank (and you should not), then you should not put a baby rabbit in one, either.

Proper rabbit housing ideas can be found at www.rabbit.org/

I hope this helps. Please write back if you have any other questions.
