Rabbit dislocated jaw (URGENT)

Question
Hi,
My rabbit accidently got kicked in the face by my son 4 days ago. I nursed her overnight but she was still not eating in the morning. I took her to the vet and the vet said that he didn't think she had broken her jaw but it sounded a bit 'clunky' and she may have a mild dislocation.
She is only eating soft pellets that have been soaked in water and i am giving her water via a syringe. She is still jumping around and does not seem to be in pain. I am very worried that she is still not eating a proper diet as she has had no hay/grass or anything except soaked pellets for 4 days now.
The vet gave her some painrelief and said that she should be better in 2/3 days and that her jaw should relocate itself. However, I am fearful that she will lose too much weight as she is only 12 weeks old.
How long does a dislocated jaw take to heal? And how long do I leave it before I go back to the vets? I am unsure how long a rabbit can go without eating a proper diet before there is permanent damage done to her digestive system.
Please help as I am now very worried that she will become too unwell due to her lack of food intake and as she is not gnawing that her teeth will grow too long.
Kind Regards,
Natalie

Answer
Dear Natalie,

Sorry for the delay.  I was out of town and did not have ready access to the internet.

Did the vet take any radiographs to have a look at the bones?  If there is a broken bone, this might require serious surgical intervention.

Please get her to a rabbit-experienced veterinarian immediately for radiographs and full workup to see what is actually wrong.  Only then will you know how long this will take to heal on its own, or if it will require surgical repair:

If she is still not eating normally, then I don't think the first vet really did a thorough enough exam to know what was really going on.

I hope she will be fine.
