Question
Thank you for information. I have taken on boardnwhat you say re not picking him up every time i open hutch and this has helped in that he doesn't hide away so much. Time will tell as to how receptive he might become in future but i will leave that up to him. My follow up question is how much should i give to feed. He always seems to be hungry and i don't like the idea of his bowl being empty during the night. At present i have given him three quarters of a small bowl of normal rabbit feed each day and have also provided fresh food in the shape of dandelion leaves, spinach, pear, and a strawberry. Seems to eat everything I have provided except a green leaf from a cauliflower!

Answer
You will want to read about diet at http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/diet.html.  If he is less than a year old, then pretty much feed him as much as he will eat.  If he's older than that, go by the guidelines in the article.

Also, check out the quantities of fruits and vegetables that are listed.

I feed bunnies whole dandelions, and they like them a lot!
