Question
I read your response to 'Baby rabbit weaned too young' and I agree that 4 weeks is a little young. Yet the same I have three litters at a little over 4 weeks and they are all eating on their own and their leavings are solid. It is also very true- most breeders try to rip people off because they can pretend to know everything thats why my frined and I strive to give people the truth and nothing but the truth But on to my questoin.

You said that 8 weeks is when they should be weaned but the Fair- which I bred them to be sold at- is one week before. I will be selling the mother along WITH her two kits, but I have a few others whose mothers I will be keeping, my question: Will it be alright for the other kits to leave my barn at 7 weeks of age?

Answer
Dear Emily,

In most states, it's illegal to sell a mammal younger than eight weeks.  This is the age that they truly are weaned and independent.  I cannot ethically give you information that contradicts that.

I know you'll do the right thing.
