Question
Thanks Randy, I have suggested that they give the rabbit more fruits and vegis, such as lettuce, the bunny seems to be drinking, I suggested they move her to a quieter location of the house. I will do the pedialyte and we will get her to the vet.

Answer
Hi Angel,

I think a vet visit would be the best option.  Do be careful on any changes to the diet.  Any changes should be done slowly and over a period of several days to allow the digestive system to adjust.  Don't overdo the greens and be cautious on the fruits as some of those contains lots of sugar and can cause serious problems.  But for now, I think hydration should be a priority.  And remember that once you get this rabbit healthy....grass hay should be the majority of the diet along with limited pellets and greens.  Please let me know how she is doing.  There is a slight possibility of a condition known as E. Cuniculi.  This is a protozoan infection that can cause serious kidney damage.  This protozoa is carried sub-clinically in nearly all domestic rabbits.  If a rabbit is in a situation where it's immune system is compromised....something like stress or injury for example...this issue can arise.  It is a complicated issue and very much misunderstood.  Very few vets have ever encountered this condition much less treated it.  While it is not all that common, it is still something to look at.  So, in the unlikely possibility that your vet is unable to diagnose your rabbit's condition, I can offer some info on diagnosing and treating this condition should it be the cause. I have dealt with it numerous times here (I am not a vet).  Again, it's rare, but something to be considered if a root cause of a urinary issue can't be found using normal diagnostic protocols.
