can rabbits survive on vegetables or do they need the pellet type food that you can buy at the pet store?

Rabbits most definatly need pellets. Veggies in large amounts are not good for them at all, and they should be fed sparingly- 1-2 times per week. Pellets from the pet store usually isn't the best for them either. If it has colorful peices or treats in it, then it is BAD! Buying feed from a feed store is your best option.
