Urgent!!! Hungry rabbit baby!!!

Question
Hi Brenda,
My rabbit has no milk for her baby. My rabbit gave birth to 3 babies. One was dead when it was born and the other one died 2 days after its birthday. My boyfried and me found the last baby had wrinkled skin and we learned from internet that this is the sign of dehydration. So, we forced my rabbit to feed her only left baby (my boyfried carried my rabbit and I put the baby on her belly.) We found that the baby tried every nipple, but it couldn't suck any milk out from them.
Now we hand-feeding the baby with kitten formula replacement milk. But I am worrying that replacement milk is not rich enough for the baby (at least no antibiotics in replacement milk).
I am wondering that If we could help my rabbit produce more milk for her baby. I feel so sad everytime I see that baby alone in the nest and I really want to rise it and want it become healthy.

Answer
So many people get confused about rabbit motherhood.  At this point you will not be able to get the mother to nurse the little one, nor will the little one want to nurse from her.  Hand raising is never a good idea in rabbits and rarely ends successfully.  I suspect that the kits were weak when they were born and could not suck hard enough to pull the milk from the doe and it cycled down hill from there.  You can keep the one on the cat milk replacer.  You can also add a tiny bit of Karo syrup to the milk to add a little boost.  I wouldn't suggest keeping it with the mother as she may kill it now that it technically isn't her's anymore.  Keep it warm and pray for the best.
