bunny sleep 2

Question
Dear vision hills,
It's been a few days and I still have not heard from you so I decided just to send it again, but this time with another question.
1. I wanted to know if bunnies like to be covered up (like birds) when they sleep at night. Aesop (my albino dwarf) seems to be quieter when he's covered up.
2. Also wanted to know how to prevent him from "teething" on the metal bars on his cage. I bought him chewy toys and even gave him an empty TP roll, but yet all I hear through the night is "ping! ping! ping!". Is there something yucky tasting that I can put on the bars to stop his nasty habit? Thanks Again!

Answer
I recall seeing a question a couple of weeks ago about covering a cage, but I don't recall you exact question, sorry!

Bunnies don't need to be covered up, some of them like it to be dark and quiet because it reminds them of their den, although some may try to pull the blanket or sheet through the bars and chew holes in it.

If he has lots of things to chew on (newspaper, cardboard boxes, plain wicker baskets, and what you gave him) and is still doing this, you could try rubbing Ivory Soap on the bars.  So far, that's the only thing I've heard of that some bunnies don't like.  They like bitter apple spray, and some like tabasco sauce, but few like Ivory Soap (in bar form).

So give that a shot and hopefully that will help.
