Question
Hello,
We have a New Zealand buck who is two years old and is small for his size. We bought him in September and have been feeding him pellets (1 cup a day) and some hay and carrots for treats. He does not eat all his food but his fur is great and he seems healthy. He is a pet but my daughter shows him in 4-H and need to put some weight on him. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Answer
I use the Manna Pro line of rabbit foods for all of my rabbits.  It has proven to be the best in all catagories you may want to try the "Sho" formula or even the "Gro" which is for the doe and litter, but may help him gain a little.  Also check out www.rabbit.org for a list of great healthy veggies and fruits that will help him put on some weight.  Keep in mind, though that breeding is important and you may have gotten one that isn't top show quality and may never get to the size you are looking for.
