I'm a new owner of what i think is 3 female rabbits 1 of them i know is pregnant,1 we don't know if it's pregnant it feel heavy and doesn't like to be held any more, and the 3rd it's just a baby.I also have 3 male rabbits,i think,1 i just now bought,1 I've had for a while but think he was a girl, and a baby that i had for a few weeks and just figured out it might be a boy.
what can i do?how do i prevent bad things with my girls?how do i know if something bad happened?

Answer
Hi Jennifer,

The first thing you need to do is separate all the boys from all the girls.  The next thing you need to do is find a rabbit savvy vet and have them all spayed/neutered.  I understand that it is expensive but if you take the boys in and at least get them done now then you don't have to worry about anymore babies.  Then take the girls in. If you can't afford to take them all at once just do them one at a time.  I would start with the oldest first.  Females are very prone to uterine cancers and spaying is extremely important.  The only way you can tell if there are babies already in their wombs is to find a vet who has experience palpating.  Most vets can tell if there are babies as long as they are at least 15 days old.  If you know any breeders sometimes they can tell however I wouldn't tend to believe it was a very accurate method of checking.

I really hope all of your girls aren't pregnant.  If you don't already  have a rabbit savvy vet you can try here:

Good luck
