Bunny skin and coat

Question
Today, as I was doing a daily cleaning of the outdoor rabbit cage, I picked up one of my 6 week old bunnies ( I have 9)ugh - anyway, I noticed that he/she had some bald spots.  I picked up a few more and that seemed to be the case with a few of them...  I also noticed that on a few of them there was little bites(?)  One bunny has a bite(not an open wound but a cut type) the size and almost perfect shape of their top teeth.  My friend suggested that it could be aggressive grooming or fighting, but could be a mite issue.  They do not have fleas and I have moved theminto the garage into another cage so I could keep an eye on them.  Any suggestions?

Answer
Dear Mel,

The rabbits are most likely fighting, because their cage is too small.  A single rabbit needs a space at least 36" x 36" x 24" tall--so NINE will need many times that space if they are to coexist in harmony.

Rabbits are highly intelligent and social, but they also need their space and privacy.  Crowding will make them as aggressive as it makes humans or any other animal.  It is not fair to keep them wadded up together in a garage.  Please do the right thing and provide them with plenty of free running time to reduce their stress and aqgression!

Fur loss could be cause by mites, which can be exacerbated by stress. Please read:

for safe diagnosis and treatments.  And find a good rabbit vet here:

I hope this helps.
