QuestionI recently set an appointment to have my two rabbits neutered. I asked the vet about how my rabbits will be stitched together and he told me there will be no stitches. I am a bit curious as to how that can be. He said the wounds will heal on their own so there is no need to stitch. Is this proper?
AnswerNeutering is external, so there is a much smaller wound than in a spay. A closure of some sort is prefered, but some vets do not use them. If you can find a vet who does a closed neuter, it would be better, but provided the vet's success rate is extremelly high it is not usually much of a problem.
