QuestionMY FEMALE HAS DEVELOPED BALDNESS AROUND HER EYES AND THE SKIN IS BLOODY LIKED IT HAS BEEN SCRATCHED, THE MALE RECENTLY HAS BEEN AFTER HER AND I REMOVED HER FROM THE MUTAL CAGE THEY SHARED. HE IS 5 MONTHS OLD AND SHE IS 6 MONTHS OLD. COULD HE HAVE SCRATCHED HER HAIR OFF LIKE THAT? I HAVE WASHED HER WITH CLEAR WATER AND PUT NEOMYACIN ON HER SORES, THEY HAVE DRIED UP A BIT TODAY AND LOOK BETTER, IS THIS A GOOD TREATMENT FOR HER? THANKS, SHARON
AnswerDear Sharon,
It sounds as if it's time for both rabbits to be spayed/neutered so they can be reintroduced with the tips you can find here:

You can find a good rabbit vet here:
www.rabbit.org/vets
The baldness could be due to overgrooming, but could also be a sign of mange or other problem:
www.bio.miami.edu/hare/furloss.html
The vet will be able to see in person what is the most likely cause, and prescribe appropriate treatment.
I hope this helps!
