Question
Hello!First of all my angora rabbit don`t eat his cecotropes...should I be concerned? But he eat and behave normally... Vet told me that I don`t have to vaccinate my rabbit for myxoamtosis if I will keep him at home. However I dont know If I can take him outside or if I can feed him with grass ( I read that there might be myxomatosis on it)Should I wash grass?:-) my Can I take my rabbit outside if I sheared him recently and he has really short fur know or it would be better if he would stay at home until his fur will grow out?Thank you for help.

Answer
Dear Ania,

Myxomatosis is spread by biting insects, so it is very important to vaccinate your bunny, even if he lives indoors.  That way, you can take him outside (supervised, to protect him from predators which can strike in seconds!) and not worry.

Please find a competent rabbit vet via the international listings here:

While vaccines are not without risk, if myxomatosis is endemic in your area, it would be risky *not* to vaccinate, and I'm not sure why the vet would recommend against it.

Hope this helps.
