Questionmy rabbit is eating sticky nettles and strawberry plants but will not
touch his pellet food. He is drinking no water and i am very
concerned. I have massaged his tummy to break down gas but i
am not sure what he is suffering from. He is producing round, dark
droppings and they do not appear abnormal. Is there a problem?
AnswerWell, why should he touch boring pellets if he has yummy plants to eat? There's no incentive for him to eat the pellets if the other items are readily available.
I believe he can get water from these, so he may not need any more.
It sounds as if his digestive system is operating normally. I would restrict his access to the plants if you can to make sure he just eats the pellets.
