Question
i just bought a mini rex at the fair for my daughters 4h project next year. she is 3 months old. her nail are really long do we need to cut them?

Answer
Yes, you should cut your bunnies nails, and keep them trimmed up ever 4-6 wks.  This is fairly easy although if your a beginner it can be nerve racking especially if the rabbit has dark toenails.  Using a dog nail trimmer is fine, and make sure to not cut the quick of the nail.  It is very much like trimming a dogs nails.
I have linked you a few sites that have some good information on how to trim your rabbit's nails

http://www.ehow.com/how_16499_trim-rabbits-toenails.html

They offer step by step instructions and other tips to help make the experience better for both you and the rabbit.

Good Luck
