anti inflammatory drug

Question
Our rabbit injured her leg.  The vet said to give her an anti inflammatory drug but he is not an exotic pet vet and didn't know the name of a drug safe for rabbits.

Dear Steph,

We use both metacam (meloxicam) and Banamine (the latter is better for soft tissue pain; it does not have the severe ulceration effects in rabbits that it has in carnivores).  Our vets will often combine tramadol and metacam to provide multi-pronged pain relief, at least in the earliest stages after an injury.
