Scattered litter

Question
Hello Brenda,

I've been breeding rex rabbits for 6 years and have never had any problems with my does before until now.I'm in Australia by the way.
This doe had a litter earlier this year and for some reason she either didnt feed them or her milk did not drop down.
I've now re-bred her and she had the kits last night, made a huge lovely fur and straw nest and that was that.
Because I've had litters die of the cold before today i moved them into the nestbox which was already in the hutch but unused.
So i moved the straw and fur in there but she has since kicked all the babies out of the nestbox and moved the box out of the corner.
I've moved kits from nests into the nestbox after day 1 everytime before and neevr had a problem.

Would you suggest putting everything back including nest and babies where it was before and leaving it at that or could it be possible that she doesnt want the babies in with her?

Any help would be greatly appreciated because I really dont want her to loose another litter =(

Hope to hear from you soon
Regards
Danella Hawkins

Answer
I would leave them where they are and hope she takes care of them. Recently, a doe of mine did the same thing, twice.  She was an older doe and when she lost the second litter, I gave her to someone who wanted a pet.  I think the older does just get sick of having kits.
