Question
hi there i have a 10 week old mini rex bun! i'm having a hard time litter training her. ive had her about a week and nothing sdeems to be working. i  have tried spraying her shavings with vinigar, i heard they dont like the smell and they will not go in that area. also i heard removing all shavings and leaving just the plastic bottom, the bunny will also feeel forced to use her litter pan.  in stead she still goes everywhere, and sits on top of her cardboard box all day long.  i have put her litter pan in the corner she likes to pee in, but she seems to go almost everywhere in her cage.  what should i do? what should i try next?

Answer
hello nicki

your bunny is at the perfect age to start litter training her.

It can take much longer than week to litter train a bunny. the way i littered trained my bunny was putting his poo in the litter tray, by doing this he realised that this was where he goes to the toilet. Also my rabbit is a house bunny so when he was running around id watch him and like every minute i went and put him in his litter tray and after a few weeks he started pooing and weeing in it. Occasionally he poos outside of it but most of the time he doesnt. when your bunny poos in the litter tray remeber to give her a treat. Also go to your pet shop and find some sort of rabbit litter tray bedding, something like is used to train cats. This way she wont want to lay in it and will  just want to poo and wee in it as it wont be comfortable for her.

remember it can take a very long time sometimes when litter training your bunny, dont give up she will get it in the end.

good luck

hope this helps
