Guinea Pig Knats?

After 2 months of living in our new home we saw small yellow worm-like bugs on my three guinea pigs. After some internet checking my mother and I determined they were lice. Shortly after deciding the guinea pigs had lice we started seeing small bugs on the cages as well as flying around in the room and even the other rooms. The bugs are small and blackish. They kind of look like knats. But they don't behave like knats; they just sit there when you try to smush them, where knats would fly away. The bugs are just sitting there. They even slightly hop. We don't know if the small yellow bugs are related or if they are still lice. My pigs are 1-2 years old. In our old place they never had any bugs. Can you please help?

It sounds to me like the yellow bugs are the babies of the larger ones.

If lice was the problem I would recommend a simple shampoo treatment with special piggy shampoo. However, it seems like you might need to get a professional in to treat the gnat problem you have.
