iron in water

My sister owned 4 guinea pigs and 2 of them have just recently died. They were probably about 4 years old. She has recently moved to an area were she has well water and it has a lot of iron in the water. Would the iron in the water be a problem if they drink a lot of water? A 3rd guinea pig is also sick and probably will not last too long.

Hi Janet,
Honestly I have no idea if this may harm guinea pigs. As almost all spring waters have some iron in it I am sure it would cause no harm. Maybe you should ask a expert who may have more knowledge in this subject.
