Question
my guinea pigs foot and ankle is swollen but i don't know what to treat it with while i am at home can you please help me find an over the counter cure

Answer
If there's one thing i've learned about guinea pigs it's, you really don't want to try over the counter stuff, the vet is always the best way to go with guinea pigs. There aren't a lot of over the counter things to give guinea pigs and with your piggie having a swollen foot you need to take her to a doctor, it could be a number of things wrong with her, from a sprain to an abcess growing in her leg. I know of one guinea pig that a person adopted and their leg started to get strangely bigger over a week's time. They didn't take them to a vet and the piggie didn't live much longer. We both thought that she had a tumor but no action was taken to do anything. Keep her comfortable and take her to a vet because when a guinea pig is not feeling well they stop eating and drinking which is also bad and you would then have to feed them like you would a baby, by mashing up their food and mixing it with some water or milk and feeding it to them by a dropper or syringe. I know it's not the cheapest answer to give you, but it is the best answer I can give and probably what anyone else would give you as well. Keep me posted on your piggie.
