Question
I have only just noticed this...
when i normally hold my gp to give him a carrot he always takes big bites (hes greedy) but today when he was eating his half a carrot or trying to eat it, he tries to take big bites and he does not get anything. he wants a big bite and then he is forced to nbble little bits, so i gave him some lettuce and he ate that fine, i think he just has a sore jaw or something like that but im not sure.
Also: can gp's have saw-chips/saw-dust in there cage,  apparently saw-dust is like an electric blanket to them - it keeps them warm. please reply=)
thank-you.

Answer
Hello,
Check his teeth are aligned properly and not chipped because that may be why he is finding it difficult to eat, if he continues to find it hard to eat then I would recomment a trip to the vet. Guinea pigs can have wood chippings, saw dust is ok but make sure you buy the less dusty type. Hay is also recommended for guineas as it keeps them warmer then sawdust would.
I hope this helps.
