Lazy Guinea Pig

Question
Hi,
I have an approximately 7 week old Guinea Pig who constantly lays in a corner until I feed her or play with her. I play with her daily for hours at a time so I don't think she is lonely. When I feed her it seems like she gets "bursts" of energy and jumps around her cage. Later when I will visit her she is in the corner lazing around. Is she sick? I am just worried that she is lethargic for a reason. What can I do to give her more energy? Also why does she jump around the cage when I feed her? Thanks!

Answer
Hi There

To give her more energy she may need some Vitamins
The best Vitamin is Vitamin C
It helps keep guinea Pigs healthy
The best way to get This is by giving her vegetables with alot a it in it.
The best Vegetables are carrots celery and lettuce
Also apples can help to
Just make sure you do not overfeed her with this
Also fresh pellets and Alfa or timothy hay is best to

If she jumps around the cage it may be excitement or she could be angry or distressed

I would say she is excited
The best way to tell if she is sick if she sits all puffed up not eating and squealing softly

I do not think that your piggie is sick since you play with her and she has burst of excitement

All the best and good luck
