Answer
Hi Schen,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I am a full time carer to newborn twins so am rushed off my feet at the moment! It is taking some time to sort through all my questions, despite working from the earliest questions asked, and I am very sorry if any inconvenience was caused.

What is their diet like? Do they have access to an unlimited supply of grass hay (oat, brome, timothy, meadow, bluegrass or orchard-grass) all the time? Take a look over the following link (copy and paste the URL in your browser address bar) and see if there's anything you can do to perhaps improve the diet a litte:

Diet plays a big part in the "output" of a guinea pig, so see if maybe they have a little too much fruit in their diet especially.

Sometimes general illness or stress can affect the poop, so since his appetite has decreased a little I feel it might be worth having him checked over by a vet. Take one of the soft poops with you (if you can); the vet may want to see the poop and he may be able to suggest what may be causing it based on that.

If you require any further help, let me know and I will be glad to assist.

Best Wishes,

- Laura
