long car trip

Question
We are moving across the country in the summer with our 2 guinea pigs.  We will put them into carriers for the 13.5 hour trip, but one especially does not like the carrier and will bite the towl and gnaw at the bars.  Any ideas to keep her more calm on the long trip?

Does she like a cage better? When I traveled with my pigs I would use a smaller size guinea pig cage and place heavier bedding in it, like cell-sorb or carefresh, they used to love going on trips. She might just like to see out and not be enclosed in a dark space, a more open carrier might also help. You can also try giving her lots of hay, treat stick and wood stick to chew on during the trip, to occupy her time.
