Answer
Hi Emily,
Are your guinea pigs males? What do you mean when you say they are fighting, are they chattering their teeth, and not just nipping, but biting each other? Has either of them noticeably hurt or injured the other one? Have you seen them yawn a big yawn when they are around each other(this is a sign of aggression)?
Go to this website(read the whole page, you may think it doesn't apply to your situation at first, but towards the middle and the bottom of the page I think there is info that could help you)
http://www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm .
Guinea pigs are herd animals, so when you introduce a guinea pig to another guinea pig, one of them will almost always be the "alpha" and establish dominance over the other guinea pig(s). It is always a process that can mean lots of little squabbles between the cavies, but usually if you follow the information on cavyspirit, there are rarely problems. Remember, as I said, it's ok for guinea pigs to bicker back and forth-to a point.
Once you can answer the questions I asked, it should be able to help me, help you more. In some, very rare(extremely rare!) cases though, the guinea pigs do have to be seperated, but this doesn't have to be an option yet.
