nail clipping!

Question
My guinea pig, Pumpkin, has really long nails. In the front they turn 2 the side, and in the back they're not too bad in length. She won't let me hold her front paws and it's taking too long 2 wear them down "naturally". I am totally stuck and don't know what 2 do! She doesn't seem 2 be having any pain. I have some simple questions..
1. How short do they need 2 be?
2. What is the best method of nail clipping?
3. What could happen if i don't cut them?
4. How much should i cut at a time?
5. How do i get 2 her front paws w/o her biting me?

thank u soooo much!!!

Answer
1. Dont cut the nails past the red bloodline inside the nail.
2. Get dog or human clippers and have someone hold them and try to clip them!
3. They will get way too long and cause the pig to walk weird and cause health problems!
4.Just down to the red part and not past!
5. Have someone maybe put a towel over her head!

Good Luck!
