Class Guinea Pig

Our guinea pig has a black bump on its ski.  What is it?  He's also fat.  Should we put him on a diet?

Hi Austin,

It is very difficult for me to say what is wrong with your guinea pig - or whether he is overweight or just a big pig - without actually seeing him.

I suggest you take him to a specialist small animal or exotic pet vet for a full check-up. If he is unhealthily overweight, the vet will let you know, and he or she will also be able to tell you whether the bump is anything to worry about or not.
