Question
QUESTION: Hi! So today I noticed a large pump on where my guinea pig's grease  gland should be.  Like a cyst almost, though...After attempting to drain it, nothing but blood came out and it didn't get any smaller. It's solid and there is no opening on this bump. I am completely clueless on what I Should do..!

ANSWER: I would love to help you with this Rachel, but without the benefit of a picture I can't even begin to tell you what you have. Cysts don't generally occur in that area, but again without a picture or a crystal ball I'm in the dark.

I hope you understand. Please try to send a picture so I have a better idea of what you're describing.

Yes  I understand it is not a very good quality picture... I can try to retake with a better camera if needed.

ANSWER: It's a very blurry picture so I can't see any detail.  I don't think you necessarily need a better camera. Try taking it again only not so up close. Get a clear one from a little distance and I can zoom it in.

Common mistake, so don't feel bad. Just try again.

Still no luck with the blurryness... But  I hope that's better.

Answer
It was a good try.  I think perhaps the blurriness is caused by trying to get a close up. Try from about 3 or 4 feet away and in better light, perhaps outdoors.  From what little I could see I don't see anything that looks like an abscess or cyst. But let's try one more shot and maybe that will do it. Would you rather send it to my e-mail?
