Introducing a new gerbil????

 Recently my Gerbil of 2 1/2 years past away and
my second Gerbil is a bit lonely.  How do I introduce a new Gerbil?  Should I anticipate
a problem or do they adjust well to new company?

Answer
Yes, anticipate a problem. Gerbils can be extremely territorial so you may run into problems introducing new ones. Is your current gerbil a male? If so hopefully that'll make it  easier. Males tend to want to baby new pups.

Second, if you do decide to itroduce new gerbils only get young pups (2) preferably too. This way if you do run into problems the pups will still have each others company but if it does work out your senior gerbil who may not be with you too terribly much longer won't pass and leave another lonely gerbil.
