Watering Gerbils

Question
Hey,
We just got two Gerbils, Oreo and Gerber, and They don't seem to know what the water bottle is. It is different than the one that they had at the pet store. They put their paws on the side where they can see the water, but they dont understand that the water comes from the tube at the bottom. We tried raising the water bottle because we thought it might be too low, and we also tried dripping water from the tube in front of them to show them where the water is. Gerber seemed scared of the falling droplets. They havent drunken anything yet. But we have only had them for 2 hours, so maybe they are just not thirsty...
Thank You!!!

Answer
WOW MOKI!, I'm Very very surprised someone should ask me this, because just yesterday I got a pair of Gerbils and saw they weren't drinking, but after about 2 days they began drinking.  Gerbils are very intelligent and will find a way to work the water bottle what might help is tapping your finger on the small metal ball to simulate the sound of one drinking this may help them. Hope this helps.
