Question
hi, my hamster had babies about a week and a half ago and i have the critter trail one. the nest was up in the petting zone and it stunk really bad i took that off and the top and gently layed the same bedding down in the bottom part. i never touched them will the mother still take care of them. she keeps on going up to the petting zone to see if they are still there. should i put the hamsters back up there without touching them. please i need help.

Answer
Hi Dylan,

If you did not touch the babies the Mother should still take care of them. At the age they are now, it would really be best to keep them where they are now (it is possible though that Mom may move them back up there). If possible block off the area that goes to the petting zone. Soon the babies will start exploring the cage (if they haven't already) and if they are in the petting zone and happen to go down the tube, they could easily be hurt.
