Health Problems!

My boyfriend has resently bought a Syrian hamster for us to shair its at his house and he's only had it for 3days now but he's getting really worried as it has been sneezing since yesterday he says that the left eye is slightly closed now. The hamster is only 6weeks old. Neither of us have had hamsters before and we dont no what to expect although we've both read up on it.
Have you any idea what is wrong with it if there is something wrong with it?

Hi Fay,

       This sounds like an allergy. It could be the type of bedding you are using. If you are using ceder or pine, get rid if it as soon as possible. These beddings are toxic to hamsters. Low dust Aspen bedding is the best to use with hamsters. If you can not find aspen bedding then I would suggest Critter Care, it is also a good bedding for hamsters and it is hypoallergenic.

       If you are using the correct bedding and his symptoms persist or get worse, then a vet should be consulted.
