Old, wobbly hamster - please help!!

Question
I have a 3 year-old hamster who just recently started developing some problems...can you help?  One - his eyes are sticky and sometimes stay shut after he wakes up for up to 1/2 hour. I have been wiping them with a warm cloth to help open them. Two - for two days, he has had trouble walking.  He will look like he's crawling out of his wooden house, and
he'll just wobble all over the place, sometimes falling completely on his side. He is no longer running on his wheel. Could have have a broken bone? Would he be squealing in pain if he did?  Third - his coat has been looking a little raggedy and gray, and he seems to have a slight
green coloring around his bum. I know he is old and probably and feeble, but is there anything I can do?  Thank you!!!

Answer
Well the eye problem are probably eye infections. Your hamster is very old for a hamster so its immune system is probably weakening much like how human elderly are prone  the flu and colds more then younger people. Im afraid your hamster has a serious infection and will be unable to recover do to his age.
an infection could also cause the other problems you described.

all you can do is take him to the vet a vetrinarian may proscribe antibiotics or another form of treatment and will be better able to diagnose it.

Im sorry for you and your hamster and i hope somehow your hamster feels better.
