hiccuping noise

Question
My hamster just started to make this weird kind of high hiccuping noise. She has never done this before and she's about a year old ( I got her last march). Could you help me?

Hi Anna, Ive been thinking about this question over night trying to place this hiccuping type noise,and i think i know what you mean, I've heard similar noises myself coming from mine, hamsters do make little sounds now and again and it can be a little daunting as most think they are silent creatures, shes not so old in hamster years so i dont think it would be relating to old age, you dont say if she does it all the time, if it is just something she does on occasion i dont think you should be worried as it may just be "hiccups" if it is however something she does all the time, i might recommend she goes to the vet for a check up, just to get her looked at. i hope this helps, let me know how you get on, Jen
