how do you know if it is young when you are buying a hamster


Answer
A good question, but not a very good answer. It is difficult to tell the difference, apart from a young hamster is obviously smaller. Older male hamsters have brown scent glands on their hips.
Most pet shops wouldn't lie about the age of their hamsters. If you are buying one, try to buy it between 7 and 12 weeks old.
