Question
My mom got me a female hamster last week. it was really nice and it didn't bite at all. Just yesterday she started biting me non stop as though she was nervous I've also noticed that she is a little chubbier than before. Is it possible that she is pregnant?
How will i know?
And also if she has babies how long am i suppose to not touch them or her?

Answer
Hi Karina, you dont specify in you message what breed of hamster she is and how old she is?if by chance she has been kept in a cage at the pet shop with her brothers and sisters it could be that she is pregnant, it could also be that you were handling her different or your hands smelt of food! ask at the place where your mum got her from and ask them to double check the sex of the remaining hamsters from that cage. pop her to the vets and get a vet nurse to just take a look at her and check if they agree she is pregnant. if she is, clean out her cage, make sure she has extra bedding and food and let her nest. they are pregnant for about two weeks so you don't have long at all, once she has had her babies don't touch them or disturb them for at least a week, maybe even two. they will start running around the cage at this time and you should be ok to start interacting with them, at four weeks they are ready to leave mum and at eight they should be separated to stop anymore mistakes. anymore questions, dont hesitate to ask! good look, let me know if she is!
